Simple grasses plus winter's magic equal exquisite beauty.

A shopper walks home pulling her purchases from the Shishmaref Native Store.

Freight sled with winter's gilding.

Greta on the shore of the Chukchi Sea (-18 degrees).

We have a Lutheran Church in the village of Shishmaref. The original church was built in the 1930s, but the current structure in much newer. There are three services each week: Sunday at 11 a.m. and 7:30 p.m and Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. Interim pastors are currently ministering to the congregation as the permanent pastor passed away in October. We enjoy the services.
I even sang in the women's choir during the Singspiration last Sunday. The Eskimos do love to sing!!
